Marching, Singing, Drumming and Blowing Parades

On my morning walk I saw a tuba band playing, a classroom of children lining up for their march and toward the end of my walk  I turned the corner by the cathedral to find 3 army trucks with young soldiers carrying their musical instrument with a machine gun slung over their shoulder.  The sound of a trumpet (not at all like Miles) and toy drums ...(their sticks had silver "handles") began as  I was up against the wall of the church.   They got information and I looked into their faces...young boys.  The drum rolled and they began to march, some chewing gum and some laughing (me, up against the wall of the church all alone)...there is a parade daily.  Last night a priest and 20 people marched by my home carrying a wooden tall altar ...they were singing.  I see a parade every week in San Cris

Hittin the water....

I leave at 9am to go to Sunidero Canyon with a 2 hour boat ride. It looks lovely and the tour guide (when I paid him) assured me that the enormous rains shouldn't worry me that they have closed the dam and we have life vests.  It is officially low season so I save 50 pesos...the trip will cost 200 pesos not 250 so I saved $4.
